Sam Fine's Tips on Choosing the Perfect Red Lipstick!
Hello Darlings! I was on Facebook last week and saw that Sam Fine posted some beauty tips (as seen in the March 2012 issue of Allure) on how to choose the perfect red lipstick for your complexion. He cites celebrity examples for comparison, suggests the type of red to look for based on how you match up, then suggests the Fashion Fair lipstick that corresponds (Sam Fine is now the Creative Director for this longtime women of color brand). Click below to check it out, I just HAD TO share!

2012 Grammys: Best Makeup Looks!
Wow, what a weekend! First and foremost, my sympathy goes out to Whitney Houston's family and friends....especially her daughter Bobbi Kristina and mother, Cissy Houston. Very sad. Whitney was definitely an icon...the golden standard for what a true vocalist should be. And to her family, I'm sure she was so much more.
In the midst of mourning, the music world moved forward in a celebratory spirit to honor those that offered us great music in the past year. And none was more celebrated than the awesomely talented British vocalist known as Adele. She swept up 6 Grammys (which was well-deserved) and wowed the crowd with her comeback performance. Not to mention, her makeup was simply classic and beautiful...one of the best looks of the night! Don't you agree? Click below to see some of my other picks...

My Thoughts on the Cover Girl Queen Collection EBONY Bronzer for Contouring
Coming off the discussion of whether or not dark skin should be contoured, I thought it would be appropriate to follow-up with a post on a product that is often recommended for this purpose: the CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Ebony Bronze. I've had it in mind to talk about my experience with this bronzer ever since I stopped wearing it a few months back, and this topic just brought it to the forefront once again. Why'd I stop wearing it? Well, I didn't think it was appropriate to be used for contouring. It may have other uses, but contouring isn't the most ideal one...at least for me. Here's why....
