BEHIND THE SCENES: Natural Bohemian Shoot

Hello Darlings!  How many of you think that natural-looking makeup is boring?  I used to think so but I have such an appreciation for it now, especially being a makeup artist and knowing the work that goes into it.  Just because you don't see color, doesn't mean there was no technique used in creating the look.  Natural can be so pretty and so romantic!  Anyhow, I'm sharing with you a shoot I did last month with Darbe Rotach (a music and lifestyle photographer).  He wanted a Bohemian feel so asked me to do a natural look on the model (Ashani Rivers).  I did the task though it wasn't exactly barely-there makeup.... it was more of an amped-up natural (just 'cause I'm in love with glamour ).

PRODUCTS & PRICES at The Makeup Show NYC 2012 (What I Bought & How Much I Spent)

Sooooo,  have you read my recap of this year's Makeup Show NYC?  Are you curious about the brands that were present, products that were sold, and discounts that were offered?  Then this post is for you!  I've listed (and included photos) of ALL the products I purchased at the show, as well as the exact price I paid for each item.  At the end of the post, I'll reveal which purchase I felt was my best buy!

Some of the discounts I took advantage of included items from NARS (I had been dying to finally get my hands on their blush in Taj Mahal plus been in love with their tinted moisturizer "Seychelles" ever since I received a sample from Bloomingdales a few weeks ago...great match for my complexion).  Kevyn Aucoin was also offering a good discount on their Sensual Skin Enhancer ... got a couple for my kit.

Hey guys! I attended this year's makeup show in NYC and I wanted to share bits and pieces of my experience in photos with you.  I met quite a few beauty bloggers for the first time in person after reading their blogs and following them on twitter for almost a year!  Some of them include: Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doctor, Sherry Blossom, Makeup by RenRen (actually, been reading her blog for way more than a year), Kia of Yummy411, Felicia of This That Beauty plus more!  I'll also share some tid bits from Dior/celeb makeup artist, Ricky Wilson's seminar.

Following this post, I'll list all the products I bought along with the discount price I paid for each item.  But first, click below for photos and more....

I'm Back: My Adventures in COSTA RICA!! (Lots of Photos)

Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica .... Enjoying the Sunset on My First Night
Hello Darlings! .... I didn't tell you where I was going beforehand, but I'm back.... from Costa Rica!!  I had a lot of fun. Good company. Just an overall pleasant experience.  When I came back earlier this week, I was still a little sore from doing "adventure activities" such as zip lining (boy did they strap me in...I felt the harness squeezing in every crevice...and I mean EVERY crevice), tubing (hit a couple of rocks going down the river), and horse-back riding (well, I opted out of this one, but my friends went ahead and had enough fun for me).  I also got to walk across a hanging bridge (which swung with pretty much every step we of my friends wasn't feeling it AT ALL but I thought it was cool).  When I got to the other side of the hanging bridge I was greeted with a mud bath (my skin felt so smooth and silky afterwards) and natural volcanic hot springs.  Fun times...

Khadine Is Off to a New Land....

Hello Darlings! .... Hope you all are well!

I'll be going out of the country on vacation for the next few days, so there won't be any blog posts this week.  I'll try to do an update as soon as I get back...possibly mid-to-late next week.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to wind down for the night so I can catch my flight in the morning ;)

Thanks guys! <3

p.s. Can you tell from the photo which country I'll be headed to??  (I could've given a better hint, but I just happen to like this photo...Lol).  Anyone who guesses it is really good!
