Hello there! .... I've been meaning to talk about the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette since it came out, but I'm just getting around to it. First of all, when I heard the news of its release...I wasn't too thrilled. I had JUST bought their original Naked Palette in November, during their Friends and Family Sale, and I wish I knew of this upgrade so I had the option of choosing between the two (in case one was better than the other). I felt almost cheated...I thought to myself: "I should've known they were up to something when they decided to finally discount the Naked Palette-- a cult favorite"! It's like buying the iPhone 3 today, only to discover the iPhone 4 is being released next week! What the hell?? Lol.... Well anyway, what's done is done.
Would it be worth me going ahead and buying the Naked2 despite barely getting the original Naked palette wet? Click below to find out....
IS IT WORTH PURCHASING THE NAKED2 PALETTE?.....
....Absolutely not! Do I think there's anything wrong with it? No.....HOWEVER...there isn't enough of a conceivable difference between the original Naked Palette and the Naked2 Palette to warrant having both! This whole hype created by Urban Decay and fans of Urban Decay is.... just that. If you don't have the original (and neutral--mostly shimmery--shades are your thing) then by all means....BUT...if you do have the original, why spend an extra $50 plus on something so similar (unless you have the money to blow)?
Don't get me wrong.....
THERE ARE ACTUALLY A FEW THINGS I LIKE MORE ABOUT THE NAKED2:
1. The 2-Sided Brush- Woohoo! Now I get to apply AND blend on the go!
2. The Metal Case- it seems more sturdy than the velvet case from the original Naked Palette.
3. The Matte Black Shadow- When it comes to Urban Decay, you have to be thankful for any matte colors you can get out of them (boy do they love them some shimmer, glitter, and frost...lol)!
4. The Bigger Mirror- needs no explanation .
|The Original Naked Palette|
BUT THE ONE THING I WOULDN'T CHANGE ABOUT THE ORIGINAL...
.... is the fact that it comes with the Primer Potion. I think the primer potion is so much more valuable than a lip gloss (which is what they offer with the Naked2). Anywhooo, I don't want to get too much into discussing the original Naked palette....I'll save that for when I actually do a review on it separately.
Take care for now! Enjoy your New Year's Eve weekend if you don't hear from me before then!
