Look of the Day: Dramatic Yellow & Blue Eyes with Pretty Pink Lips!

I did makeup for a magazine launch/fashion show in Harlem last week (September 20th), and this was the look I wore!  The magazine is called Grand Life Daily and the event was held at the ever-popular Sylvia's Lounge (yep, the food is worth the hype), where designer, Stacey Angela, showcased her Spring and Summer 2012 Swimwear Collection

Beauty Tip: Exfoliate Your Lips! (2 Homemade Solutions Using Items from Your Kitchen)

Isn't it the most annoying thing ever when you put on your favorite bold lipstick only to see it highlight all the dry flakes of skin you didn't even know was there?  You thought you had soft, smooth lips...... until you applied that MAC Ruby Woo (or some other popular, especially matte lipstick).  I'm sure we all want those puckers to be in tip-top plump shape, but are we doing the things that will aid in that quest?  Most people are willing to add exfoliating to their daily beauty ritual when it comes to their face, but very few actually give their lips that same kind of attention.  Why not? There are many commercial products on the market for this purpose, plus there are simple steps you can take to achieve the same results using everyday items at home.

Behind the Scenes: New York Fashion Week's 'The Style Salon' Event (Spring 2012 Presentation)!

Exactly one week ago, I worked backstage at my first official fashion show during New York's Fashion Week!!  ....The event, called 'The Style Salon,' was produced by publicists, Jada Russell and Joy Doss...and featured various emerging designers.

Some guests in attendance included Gloria Govan and Jennifer Williams from Basketball Wives, as well as hairstylist, Derek J, from Real Housewives of Atlanta!  There were also a few models from America's Next Top Model walking the runway, including Keenyah from cycle 4.

Look of the Day: Fierce Magenta Lips for NYC Fashion's Night Out 2011!

Hello Beauties! .... As you know, last Thursday was Fashion's Night Out, the event which kicked off NYC's Spring 2012 Fashion Week!  I had such a blast though it barely had anything to do with fashion.  I mostly visited cosmetic boutiques (like Sephora, MAC etc. in Soho) where I tested beauty products, indulged in yummy appetizers, sipped champagne, and stuffed my goody bag with free product samples ...who needs clothes?! Lol...Anyhow, check out the makeup look I wore for the evening's events...my bold magenta lips are courtesy of MAC's Up the Amp lipstick! LOOOVE!

Behind the Scenes: Latina Bella!

Here's a photo shoot I worked on with photographer, Rocio Segura, and model, Maria at the School of Visual Arts.  The model is originally from Spain and they wanted to play up her Latin heritage, so the makeup focus was hot red lips!

Look of the Day: Electric Blue Liner and Natural Lips

Happy Tuesday! ....This look simply focuses on the thick blue eyeliner I'm wearing.  The lips are natural (just a sheer gloss, no liner) and the blush is subtle.

Look of the Day: Club Hoppin' Eyes (feat. Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio "I'm Getting Sunburned")!

Happy Labor Day folks! ....I'm back with another Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio feature! This palette is called "I'm Getting Sunburned." I have no idea why they labeled it as such, but there's a whole lot of shimmer in this palette, so I thought it would be perfect for festive occasions such as this labor day weekend when most people are partying it up!

Behind the Scenes: Photo Shoot in Central Park (Strawberry Fields)!

Recently, Australian photographer, Clare Harvey, was in NYC for a few weeks and contacted me to work on a couple of photo shoots with her in the city.  The first shoot we did together was in Central Park with model, Cassidy Cherry, who was styled in 70's vintage to fit the whole Beatles' Strawberry Fields theme.  I did very natural, barely-there makeup.....and hairstylist, Myss Monique captured the flower power look of the 70's with the waves and braided crown.  It was such a great pleasure to work with the team.
