Review: MUD Lip Glaze in 'Magnolia' and 'Cupid'

I used to be a lip gloss freak!  And in fact, in some ways I still am ...I carry no less than 5 different lip glosses in my purse at any given time.  I know this is excessive, it's definitely not necessary....that's why I cut it down to 3 when I catch myself in the act (heehee)!  But one thing's for sure though, the two that always remain in my purse on a day-to-day basis..... are my MUD lip glazes in 'Magnolia' and 'Cupid'!

Click below for pics (of me wearing the glosses), swatches, and the rest of the review!

Feel free to watch this review instead...but if you prefer to read, continue ahead!

Swatches of MUD lip glaze in 'Magnolia' on the left and 'Cupid' on the right:

* The formula is so moisturizing!  I really don't need to use my aquaphor before applying this gloss if I don't want to!...and trust me when I say, I'm huge on keeping my lips well-conditioned! issues here as far as this gloss is concerned.

Side note: I wonder why they call it 'lip glaze' though?...When I think of 'glaze', I think of something that's sticky!...and this gloss is certainly not that.  It has a very smooth, creamy feel.  Love it!

I would describe Magnolia as a sheer, medium pink gloss with hints of gold shimmer .  This gloss is very close to my natural lip color, so it goes with practically any makeup look I wear...or with no makeup at all (If I choose) perfect for everyday use.  Absolutely no lip liner needed...just apply and go!

Here's a swatch of 'magnolia' (man it's hard to get a photo that accurately depicts the color...but I did my best):

Here's how 'magnolia' looks on my lips :

Here I am wearing 'magnolia' in an old pic from summer 2010 (see how natural it looks? almost like I'm not wearing anything!):

Cupid is a brighter pink color, which MUD describes as a bubble gum pink (no shimmer, just straight color).  I keep it in my arsenal for those times that I want a little more 'pop' on my lips than the 'magnolia' can provide.  By the way, a pleasant thank you goes out to whoever decided to develop this color!

Depending on your skin tone, a lip liner may be needed with this lip glaze.  I personally combine it with a plum lip liner at times (when I layer for a more intense color and the pink then becomes a little too overwhelming for my already plump  This is a pretty sheer formula, however, so not much layering can be done.

Here's a swatch of 'cupid' looks pretty opaque in the pic, but it's's actually quite sheer (maybe I should've blended it out a bit to demonstrate?):

Here's how 'cupid' looks on my lips (the color's a brighter pink in person):

Here it is in context (MUD lip glaze in 'cupid')...I think I was wearing it with a plum lip liner here:

1. $12

I absolutely love the formula!  Has been my go-to lip gloss for about a year now...permanently lodged in my pocket book!

They also have other colors available, you can check them out here.

Thanks for reading!
